Aberdeen Crematorium
About Us
Aberdeen Crematorium is situated in a tranquil woodland approximately four miles west of the city centre. The crematorium has two chapels: the East Chapel seats 96 people and the West Chapel seats 270 people. Services are 45 minutes, but additional time can be booked on request.
Family floral tributes can be displayed on top of the coffin. Some tributes might have to be left in the floral display areas at the rear of the chapels if there not enough space on the coffin for all of them. All flowers will remain on display in the floral tribute area for at least five days. After this, the flowers can be placed where the ashes have been scattered, but will be removed when the condition of them starts to deteriorate.
Aberdeen Crematorium does not accept responsibility for floral tributes left at the crematorium following a funeral service or placed in the Garden of Remembrance.
Ashes can be scattered in the Garden of Remembrance, by family or staff at the crematorium, or elsewhere. Flowers should only be placed in memorial vases provided by the crematorium. Wooden memorial benches are positioned throughout the gardens and memorial plaques can be installed on the external walls of the gardens, memorial planters, and also in the chapels.
There is a Book of Remembrance on display in the reception and regularly turned so that entries are visible on the anniversary of a person’s death.
The Crematorium has parking for 142 cars, which includes spaces for disabled visitors.
Aberdeen Crematorium is open 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday; 8.30am-4pm, Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sundays and public holidays. It is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
